AI-Controlled Bassline Groove Box

Is there a role for AI in music composition? Music theory and performance can be practised, but composition is a journey of seeking a combination of notes that pleases the human ears. It isn't clear why some melodies please the brain while others do not. So it may seem futile training an AI composer. While an AI cannot tell whether a melody is pleasing to the human brain, it is good at learning patterns. And there is a lot of patterns in music. What would happen if we teach an AI the music we like? This project explores AI-generated bass lines in the sub-genre of techno music.

How to use:

1. Allow up to 1 minute for essential modules to load (wait till 'Init' disappears from the on-board display).

2. Select a voice (preset) from the dropdown menu on the top.

3. Smack the 'New Pattern' button to generate a bass line, then hit 'Play' !
